The Rolling Bridge on the Grand Union Canal in Paddington Basin, London was opened in 2004. The bridge provides an access route for workers and residents whilst also allowing access for boats to moor in the inlet. The bridge gently curls open through the use of ingenious hydraulic rams in its balustrades.
